The Full Game is Released!


The full release of Dig Dug 3D is here!  All base game content that I have wanted to add has been implemented into the game, alongside some bugfixes and general changes.

The list of full additions and changes are as follows:

  • +Added rocks
  • +Added an enemy counter to keep track of the number of alive enemies in a map
  • +Added bonus vegetables
  • +Added a waypoint when bonus vegetables spawn in
  • ~Changed Enemy AI to not constantly pursue the player while in ghost form
  • >Fixed a visual bug where dying on the edge of the map would clip out of the map's bounds
  • >Fixed a bug that would cause the player to snap their view to where they were looking when they died on respawning

Does this mean that I am done devving this game?  No, it does not.  However, since I've gotten most of what I've wanted out of this project, it may not be the current project that I am focusing on.  I still have ideas for this project, that I could potentially take the time to implement into the game.  Here are a couple of them:

  • Dig dug arrangement style enemies
  • Scaling difficulty
  • More map hazards
  • Increasing enemy aggression the longer you play in a level
